Data exchange modules have always been one of the key points of Open CASCADE differentiating it from many other geometric kernels and CAD systems. The high quality is ensured by ShapeHealing, whose algorithms are directly used by data exchange modules.
Open CASCADE provides standard interfaces (IGES 5.3, STEP AP 203 and 214, STL and VRML) in open source, while proprietary formats are provided in the binary form on a paying basis. They can be used both within specific development projects and as separate standalone products.
The scope of processed data includes both geometrical and topological data as well as assemblies and attributes (names, colors, layers and others).
