Canonical Recognition and Collision Detection Components Now Available
Two new components have been released to increase Open CASCADE capabilities for advanced modeling and computational algorithms.
Canonical Recognition and Collision Detection Components Now Available
Canonical Recognition is a non open-source Open CASCADE component that converts, if possible, a NURBS geometry (B-Spline, Bezier curve or surface) to its analytical form (primitive curve or surface).
The component is crucial for algorithms implemented or best-fitted to work on canonical geometry. This is especially important in the CAM domain for CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines) and other tooling applications.
The Canonical Recognition component is based on the Open CASCADE Shape Healing module and takes advantage of its powerful capabilities.
Collision Detection is another non open-source Open CASCADE component that detects collision or proximity between two shapes.
The fast shape-to-shape collision and proximity detection algorithm (called "Proxy") is intended to detect collisions (intersections) or violations of proximity criteria between two Open CASCADE shapes positioned at arbitrary locations.
