EADS Matra Datavision is among the companies chosen because of its bold innovations in company strategy, and the Open CASCADE / SALOME initiative is one of the six exemplary cases described in the book.
Emphasizing the importance of innovations stemming from research and development, Christian Pierret, Secretary of State for Industry, praised the six companies and the collaboration between them and the Ministry of Industry and then introduced the company Presidents.
Representing EADS Matra Datavision, the parent company of Open CASCADE, Hugues Rougier, Chairman and CEO, traced the evolution of the company business model, as well as the genesis of the Open CASCADE development platform and its role in the SALOME project.
Thomson Multimedia, ST-Microelectronics, Plastic Omnium, Irisbus, and AFE rounded out the press conference with a presentation of their projects, followed by a question-and-answer session with the numerous journalists attending the conference.
